1. The shade is real rice paper. It is durable in normal indoor use but is not waterproof. Avoid bathrooms, kitchens above stovetops (steam and grease), and direct contact with water or food. Do not wipe with a damp cloth use a dry soft brush only.
2. Use a cool-running LED bulb only. The paper sits close to the heat source. Use 9W LED bulbs (60W incandescent equivalent); do not use halogen, incandescent above 60W, or any high-heat bulb. LED is non-negotiable for paper-shade longevity.
