The Crater Backlit Wall Sconce is a dramatic fixture designed for modern, texture-focused interiors. A bold circular porous black disc evokes the raw texture of lava stone, contrasted sharply by a bright central opal glass sphere for soft, even illumination. The disc of this sconce is made from genuine travertine stone. To create a deep, even black aesthetic, the stone surface is finished with a matte black coating rather than left in its natural off-white state. This is an intentional design choice: the weight, density, and natural pore structure of genuine travertine are preserved, while the surface colour is controlled. The entire stone presents a consistent matte black this is exactly as it was designed to be.
Travertine is formed in the natural environment through thousands of years of complex physical and chemical processes. Even beneath the black surface, the pore distribution and stone characteristics of each piece remain entirely unique.

Is the travertine naturally black?No travertine is naturally off-white. The matte black finish is a surface coating applied to the genuine stone. The natural pore structure, weight, and density are fully preserved beneath.
